Position Overview:The Semi-Truck Driver will supply various material to our work sites and plants. The Semi-Truck Driver is a full time position, requires regular travel and overtime with occasional weekends through peak season. This position reports to the Foreman and has no supervisory responsibility. For more information regarding this position, contact Chuck at 319-362-8080.General Duties and Functions:Be prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules and projectsBe aware of and familiar with the Company Handbook and abide by the employment policies and regulationsEnsure equipment preventative maintenance is performed timely, thoroughly and correctly at all timesTeach, coach and work with team in a constructive mannerConsistently keep equipment clean and organized to promote professionalism, safety and efficiencyActively participate in any recommended or mandatory trainingsMake safety the main priority while working on equipmentEnsure all equipment in operation meets or exceeds all DOT standardsMaintain a positive working relationship with co-workers and managementAdditional duties as assigned by management, as this job description is non-exhaustiveWillingness to perform duties outside normal scope of work (i.e. work in poor weather conditions or outside normal hours)Essential Duties and Functions:Maintain vehicles in a clean, organized and safe mannerPerform maintenance on assigned trucks and other equipment as requiredComplete pre and post-shift inspections and assist with maintenance or repair of equipment as neededHelp set up and tear down job sites when moving locations (if needed)Record any maintenance issues in truck log book and ensure supervisor is aware of any maintenance issues that would inhibit work production or create safety concernsKnowledge on properly securing loadsMost trips will be hauling powder for our concrete locations or equipment/parts for portable plantsCross-train with applicable positionsPosition Requirements:Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screenMust be able to pass a drug testConsent to authorization of a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record requestClass A CDLClean DMV recordBasic maintenance skillsMust follow all applicable DOT lawsUnderstand instructions from supervisory positions, both written and verbalBasic mathematical skills (i.e. Add, Subtract, Multiply, Divide)Possess excellent communication skills in both written and verbal formsPreferred Skills and Knowledge:Fabrication skillsEquipment operation experiencePhysical Requirements:The physical requirements to successfully perform the job functions are:Ability to reach below/at/above shouldersPushing/PullingTwisting/BendingSitting/Standing/BalancingOperate hand and foot controlsSimple/Firm graspingAbility to climb ladders on trailersAbility to carry over 50 poundsAbility to lift/lower over 50 poundsSquatting/Stooping/CrouchingKneeling/CrawlingGross manipulation (pinching)Croell, Inc.
