Job Description SummaryCompany Overview:This position will be with AEGON Asset Management, the organization which oversees asset management for many of Transamerica's insurance and operating companies as well as third party clients. AEGONUSA Investment Management, LLC, is a registered investment adviser that manages fixed income assets, including public bonds, private placements, derivatives and alternative investments. Position Overview: Our Portfolio Risk Management & Control team is responsible for ensuring we maintain compliance with investment guidelines and other risk policies and regulations. This team is seeking an Intermediate Compliance Reporting Analyst or Compliance Reporting Analyst, depending upon experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and reporting investment holdings against investment guidelines and risk policies, proactive and effective communication with internal and external parties, collaborative resolution of business issues, and exceptional customer service for internal and external clients.Job Description
Prepare monthly reports, compiling and evaluating data from multiple sources
Interact with business units including Investment Legal, Compliance, Front Office, and other investment partners on various compliance related issues and projects
Assist in preparation of documentation and respond to compliance questions
Interpret investment management guidelines and assist business units in establishing processes to comply
Coding compliance rules within the BlackRock compliance platform in Aladdin.
Partner with the compliance leader to coordinate corrective action for regulatory violations and other issues impacting the business
Identify areas of compliance improvement and imminent changes/modifications of current compliance rules
Work cooperatively with co-workers on accomplishing shared/departmental goals as outlined by Manager
Entry: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
Intermediate: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
2 years’ experience in the institutional securities industry.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Strong analytical, problem recognition and resolution, data mining, organizational, and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
Working knowledge and general understanding of investment products, legal, regulatory, and accounting principles which directly affect the securities industry and their clients.
Advanced degree and/or appropriate professional certification strongly preferred.
2-3 years experience (Entry), 3+ years experience (Intermediate)in the institutional securities industry (preferably within the functional areas compliance, or compliance audit in a major insurance or banking institution or regulatory agency).
Process improvement experience.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access.
A working knowledge of Aladdin and Business Objects.
Job and compensation levels depend upon an applicant’s qualifications including the extent of his/her relevant experience and other job related factors and will be determined by hiring supervisors/managers and HR.
