PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This position is responsible for the supervision of required activities and personnel in the machine shop receiving area and machining/assembly quality control functions for Viking Pump and Wright Flow. In addition, this position will have responsibility for facilitating internal corrective actions, NCMR’s, MRB’s and investigation of ECN’s, as well as administering PMI testing.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Supervise the activities and personnel involved with receiving, receiving inspection, gage calibration and machining/assembly quality control functions

  • Develop, conduct and monitor the necessary training to meet quality objectives.

  • Collect, organize and report statistical data relative to process performance to enhance the identification of quality problems and initiate the corrective action to resolve them.

  • Facilitate NCMR & MRB resolution as it relates to quality and operations.

  • Investigate ECN’s on behalf of quality to administer disposition of parts and implement changes to inspection requirements.

  • Administer PMI testing and create reports on components as required.

  • Lead corrective action cross functional teams in operations area.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining a quality management system that is compliant to ISO 9001 standards.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:



  • Associate Degree with a background in quality, manufacturing or industrial technology.

  • 5 years’ experience in quality, engineering or manufacturing processes.

OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Knowledge of ISO-9001 requirements is preferred.

**COMPUTER SKILLS:__

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook.

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:_


  • Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions.

  • Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.

  • Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.

  • General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers and all levels of corporate and company personnel.

  • Must be able to work and communicate with all levels of company personnel, field sales employees, distributors, end users and suppliers.
