As a TRAINING TECHNICIAN, GS-1702-9 your duties are below; Formulates, oversees and evaluates the overall supply training programs for the command. Develops yearly and longer training plans. Issues instructions and procedures to subordinate units for the conduct of training activities that meet the requirements of the Department of the Army, National Guard Bureau, major army headquarters and/or other higher headquarters. Establishes and conducts a training evaluation program for subordinate units. Prepares plans and reports pertaining to readiness and mobilization. Provides guidance and assistance to units in preparation of readiness reports. Receives and consolidates unit readiness feeder reports. Evaluate the organizational readiness report and prepare recommendations for improvements/modifications of the battalion training program. Directs scheduling and coordination for the use of training sites and facilities. Ensures the arrangement for equipment and supplies needed for training activities. Develops and implements Risk Management plans and programs for the command. Provides guidance to subordinate units on the implementation of Risk Management plans and programs. Plans, organizes and assigns work to employees engaged in training and readiness at the command level. Establishes performance standards and evaluates employee performance. Recommends recognition for outstanding performance. Performs other duties as assigned. D1180

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: GS-1702-9:Must have at least* 24 monthsexperience in the following:* 1. Conducting and developing education and training programs 2. Experience with audio-visual presentations, educational tests and measurements, and instructing techniques 3. Knowledge in training centers, training programs, schools, and units for these systems 4. Experiences in training program management; scheduling training events and facilities; conducting assistance visits and training meetings 5. Abilities and experiences in presenting professional courses and briefings 6. Experiences in organizing and preparing instructional materials. 7. Experienced in preparing assignments and training project outline
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience -High school or general equivalent degree is mandatory. An under-graduate degree from an accredited college/university is optimum. An academic degree with courses in education, grammar and composition, speech, psychology, guidance, and sociology; or, social and behavioral sciences defines a best qualified candidate.
To receive credit for Education, you must provide college transcripts to support your Educational claims.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Employment is subject to attaining and maintaining a secret clearance as required by this position. If the selectee does not possess the applicable security clearance when hired, application must be made within 30 days of the start date. Failure to make application for the required security clearance will result in termination of employment. Failure to complete NGB prescribed courses at the PEC for new FTS personnel within the first year of employment may be cause for reassignment or termination of FTS. ENLISTMENT CASH BONUSES: Acceptance of a technician position may affect any bonus and/or educational assistance that may be applicable. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required for this position:?
- Knowledge of a wide range of military training and operations management concepts, regulations, policies, and procedures for the purpose of providing the command and staff comprehensive guidance. Develops and implements training and operations management policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of training and operations functions to direct and conduct subordinate unit inspections and assistance visits and evaluate the results.
- In-depth knowledge of military training and operations of the organization sufficient to provide technical advice and assistance to staff and subordinate unit personnel in the conduct of required individual and collective training requirements and the preparation of operation orders, yearly training guidance, training circulars, etc.
- Knowledge of subordinate unit training and operations functions and reports within the command sufficient to review trends, validate analysis, provide or implement recommendations that result in the enhancement of operational readiness.
- Knowledge of recurring training requirements, ammunition forecast system, and the command training funds system sufficient to propose, request, sub-allocate, execute, and monitor the command training plan and applied resources.
- Ability to communicate through both oral and written communications sufficient to communicate ideas and guidance utilizing presentations, briefings, and correspondence.
