As a TRAINING SPECIALIST, GS-1712-9 your duties are below; Assists the Training Administrator with the Total Army School System (TASS) in accomplishing command coordinating authority responsibilities. Assists the Training Administrator with various aspects of operations. Reviews data in the Army Training Requirement and Resource System (ATRRS) for appropriate input/output procedures, accuracy and quality assurance. Uses all Training Management Systems such as ATRRS, the Individual Training Requirements Module (ITRM), etc. Ensures that the training institute and TASS organizations adhere to timelines established by the Training Management Life Cycle either through command and control or coordinating authority. Assists in the management the Distance Learning Programs. Assists in the formulation and preparation of training schedules, directives and materials for the mission. Maintains training support material/reference files and obtains updates as necessary. Ensures that all student records are prepared in accordance with current regulations and distributed for assessment and accreditation. Coordinates with the Public Affairs Officer regarding press releases and media coverage of RTI events. Conducts briefings for various groups and individuals to promote RTI programs. Makes available to units and individuals various publications and recruiting materials. Participates in the preparation and distribution of recruiting materials. Coordinates support personnel requirements. Coordinates the acquisition and documentation of proponent and POI required equipment, instructional material and general supplies. Maintains statistical data and records in student files. Ensures that files such as test score verification, birth certificates, diplomas, physical examinations, etc., are maintained. Maintains instructional/support files. Ensures that safety programs are implemented and followed. Prepare and instruct medical training for the Camp Dodge Medical Simulation Training Facility (MSTC). MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**candidates must be certified at the next higher level before being eligible for that level. Each applicant must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: GS-1712-9:Must have at least* 24 monthsexperience in the following:* 1. Experiences conducting, supervising, or developing education or training programs. 2. Experiences in working programs to include developmental education, voluntary education, advanced academic education, promotion testing, and libraries. 3. Experiences in scheduling training events and facilities; supporting assistance visits and training meetings 4. Experienced in effective communications. 5. Experiences in presenting professional courses and briefings.
Must have a high school diploma or general education development (GED) diploma.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Employment is subject to attaining and maintaining a secret clearance as required by this position. If the selectee does not possess the applicable security clearance when hired, application must be made within 30 days of the start date. Failure to make application for the required security clearance will result in termination of employment. Failure to complete NGB prescribed courses at the PEC for new FTS personnel within the first year of employment may be cause for reassignment or termination of FTS.
