In this role, you will be responsible for planning, implementation and maintenance of the manufacturing activities of a specific area. In addition, you will ensure the effective use of materials, equipment and personnel in producing quality products at minimum costs. This role is accountable for managing people, setting direction and deploying resources. In this position, results are primarily achieved through the work of others and typically depend on the manager's ability to influence and negotiate with internal or external partners where formal authority is not held.Responsibilities include:Manufactures sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production costs in order to meet marketplace demand.Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.Sets up equipment operation feed, speed and temperature.Follows established procedures and drives continuous improvement in the plant's manufacturing processes, including fabrication, welding, paint and/or assembly.Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing.Resolves issues related to the organization's production, machinery, processing and/or packaging operations.Team supervisor of experienced administrative, operative, technical and/or non-professional roles, focusing on team completion of assignments and routinesAccountable for meeting day-to-day and short-term targets by setting priorities for the team and ensuring task completion that impacts the immediate teamTakes action to monitor and manage costs related to own work and that of the team.Makes more impactful contributions to the team or area performance, generally through achievement of short-and possibly medium-term goalsRequired QualificationsThe qualified candidate will have:A Bachelor's degree and 2 or more years of experience working in a manufacturing/production environmentOR an Associate's degree and 5 or more years of experience working in a manufacturing/production environmentOR a High School Diploma/GED and 7 or more years of experience working in a manufacturing/production environmentThe ideal candidate will have:WCM or continuous improvement experience/backgroundPrevious experience working in a union environment not required but preferredPrevious supervisory experience preferredStrong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbalEqual opportunity employer.
