This role will be responsible for creating design specifications for a variety of complex components and analyzing design problems using engineering and mathematical principles. The Engineer will also make design changes and prepare preliminary sketches for guidance of layout drafters. This position would typically be located at a research and development or technical center.An ideal candidate would be an experienced and degreed Controls Design Engineer who has worked with LabVIEW within a machine control/manufacturing environment. This person will report to the Machine Build and Prototype Manager and will become a valued member of our Machine Building department therefore, opportunities for advancement are strong.We are ready to act immediately on those candidates who are the best fit for the role. We pride ourselves on moving through processes quickly.REQUIREMENTS:Education: Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree plus 4 years' experience in Engineering or Science program.Skills & Experience:2 years of LabVIEW development within a machine control and data collection environment using automated test/manufacturing equipment.Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer (CLAD), Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) preferred, or willingness to achieve certification through National Instruments program.Experience in the following National Instruments (NI) LabVIEW modules: NI Real-Time development environment, NI FPGA development, NI Machine Vision development, NI Soft Motion.Ability to work within a team to create successful and capable machines from planning to implementation stages.Knowledge in communication protocols, EtherCAT and TCP/IP preferred.SQL or other database experience preferredRevision control experienceBasic electrical/circuitry knowledge and mechanical troubleshootingAny offer of employment is conditioned upon the applicant undergoing and passing a pre-employment drug testFederal-Mogul Holdings Corporation is a leading global supplier of original and aftermarket equipment for the automotive, aerospace, mining, marine and industrial markets.
