Manatt's Inc Logistics Manager in Brooklyn, Iowa

SUMMARY

The Logistics Manager is responsible for increasing productivity and capturing synergies across the entire trucking fleet through effective leadership of Logistics Coordinators, ownership of the XBE Construction Platform, and supporting the VP of Fleet Management with the strategic planning, direction, and overall performance of the Trucking Division. This role demands a proactive, analytical mindset, with a strong emphasis on data-driven decision making and a commitment to continuous improvement. The work of the Logistics Manager will directly impact the operational success of the Trucking Division, influencing both short-term performance and long-term strategic goals.

  • Promote and maintain open communication with Trucking Operations and the other Manatt’s Operational Teams to sustain strong relationships and promote ongoing advancement of processes and practices.

  • Entrusted with the comprehensive management and advancement of our dispatching software, ensuring it is leveraged to its upmost capacity by all Manatt’s Divisions and stakeholders.

  • Proactive approach to championing dispatching software and its processes, integrating closely with the Logistics Team and other Manatt’s Operational Teams to drive efficiency and success.

  • P&L responsibility of material delivery and regularly assessing and ensuring its financial effectiveness.

  • Direct and drive process change related to material delivery productivity, cost savings, and billing initiatives for all Manatt’s Divisions.

  • Collaborate and support VP of Fleet Management with annual business plan to achieve strategic goals.

  • Systematically collect, organize, and validate data related to Trucking Operations which may include load times, delivery times, fuel consumption rates, vehicle maintenance schedules, and driver performance metrics.

  • Utilize quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze collected data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement with Trucking Operations.

  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators that accurately reflect the performance and health of the Trucking Division.

  • Prepare detailed reports and dashboards that succinctly summarize the findings of analysis and communicate in a clear and actionable manner to both Senior Management and Operational Teams, enabling informed decision making and strategic thinking.

  • Conduct benchmarking studies to compare the Trucking Division’s performance against industry standards and competitors. Identify gaps and opportunities for competitive advantage.

  • Use insights gained from analysis to support the development of strategic plans aimed at improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing customer satisfaction.

  • Work with other departments to align the Trucking Division’s objectives with overall corporate strategy.

  • Participate in the training and development of team members, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively contribute to the Division’s objectives.

  • Conduct semi-annual performance reviews of the Logistic Team.

  • Encourage the use of data and analytics in decision-making processes across the team.

  • Exhibit key competencies such as business acumen, teamwork, effective communication, customer service, decision-making prowess, and commitment to skill enhancement.

  • Prioritize safety foremost, while guiding the scheduling and allocation of personnel and trucks to optimal locations, while streamlining delivery routes for efficiency and cost savings.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field; or four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
