Eaton's Vehicle Group plant in Belmond, IA has an immediate opening for a Materials Manager.
The Belmond Materials Manager is responsible for leading the Materials and Logistics function for the site while implementing the Vehicle Group Materials strategy and policies. This includes site responsibilities for all of the materials management processes; SIOP (Sales Inventory Operations Planning) across all sales channels including supply planning and collaboration, production control, inventory management, shop floor processes from receiving to shipping, leading indirect material procurement and execution of the logistics strategy. This position will also be responsible to actively participate in the Regional Materials Council to align on deployment strategies and best practice sharing.

You will proactively implement, promote and maintain a Zero Incident Safety Culture, through diligence in accident prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance and rule enforcement.
You will strategically monitor business activity and forecast models for the evaluation of plant capacity against projected customer demand level.
You will plan, manage and direct the Materials team in all material functions including: production scheduling, inventory control, purchasing, stockroom, receiving, shipping, scrap salvage, and logistics.
You will evaluate and develop reporting information to proactively identify opportunities to continuously improve department and organization performance.
You will engage the workforce and promote personal accountability by identifying goals, empowering employees to drive for problem solving, fostering innovation and continuous learning by providing ongoing feedback on employee performance with formal evaluation provided at least annually.
You will act as a business partner by planning, initiating, measuring, monitoring and assessing continuous improvement programs and materials process improvements by applying appropriate Eaton Business System (EBS) processes, Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF) and problem solving tools such as ELS (Eaton Lean System) and 5S+.
You will drive deployment of Vehicle Group Global Materials processes, and help develop and improve these processes as applicable.
You will oversee the development and implementation of new inventory management and scheduling methods and procedures
You will conduct annual plant physical inventory

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.
Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future
Minimum of three years of Materials or Operations Management experience in a high volume business
Master’s degree is preferred
Experience working in materials or logistics in a manufacturing environment is a plus
One or more years of manager of people experience is preferred
Strong leadership and communication skills
Experience with lean principles, ERP and strategic planning
Proven ability to improve cash flow and working capital management
Strong knowledge of advanced manufacturing tools such as MRP (Oracle preferred), Materials Scheduling, Kanban, and Min/Max
Excellent negotiation skills
