Position Summary

The Operations Controller is responsible forthe timely reporting and ensuring the integrity of financial data with a heavy emphasis on finance operations, business partnership, and data-driven decision support. A key objective for this role is to help drive financial results by providing business leaders data driven insights that focus the business on the most impactful areas to meet both short-term and long-term business and financial goals.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to

  • Manage finance employees embedded remotely and production facilities

  • Analyze Site and Asset performance, recommend benchmarks, and highlight the key areas of interest for improvement or monitoring

  • Model and make recommendation for inventory levels based on meal production and weeks on hand

  • Partner with Production and R&D to ensure optimization of meal menus

  • Develop KPI’s to bring visibility to key operational areas

  • Assist in forecasting and tracking of capital projects

  • Lead improvement in standard costing processes and total production cost determination

  • Work as a business partner, influencing business performance by leading decision making process through insightful analysis, fact-based recommendations and proactively identifying opportunities and risks

  • Ensure integrity of financial and operational reporting including data and reporting accuracy

  • Assist in preparation and evaluation of annual operating plans, long range plans and budgets

  • Provide support within teams to drive business decisions and reduce costs

  • Up to 10% travel to facilities


Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelors in Finance, Accounting, or other related field

  • 5+ years of experience in progressively responsible financial roles

  • Proficient computer skills including MS office

  • Experience in the manufacturing industry

  • Demonstrated strength in communication, problem solving and ability to drive results

  • Proven ability to work effectively in environments undergoing change, coupled with an ability to successfully manage that change within the organization

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with others at all levels of organization

  • Proven experience developing and cultivating effective business partnerships to gain insight into business trends and strategic initiatives that impact financial forecasts

  • Ability to effectively multi-task with competing priorities; make decisions under pressure and work under tight deadlines; delivering accurate, on time, high quality work

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Relevant experience in a food related industry

  • Master’s Degree and/or Public Accounting experience, CPA

Physical Requirements

  • Repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands and/or fingers

  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting, remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods

  • Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
