Job Description:

The chosen candidate will manage assigned technology portfolios and develops strategies and resources to review disclosed technologies for potential commercialization.

The Office of Innovation Commercialization (OIC) at Iowa State University is accepting applications for a position of Commercialization Manager who will report to the OIC’s Assistant Director. The successful candidate will evaluate and manage a portfolio of technology invention disclosures for commercial and intellectual property (IP) protection potential, including developing plans to protect the IP; develop relationships with companies most likely to commercialize the ISU technologies; and plan, develop and implement effective strategies to market the technologies; and negotiate license agreements.

The Commercialization Manager will assist other staff and ISU administration in understanding the technologies, the IP protection and commercialization strategies; and may be tasked with supervising junior personnel.

The successful candidate will possess the ability to pay close attention to detail, while managing multiple projects and deadlines. The candidate will also need to demonstrate excellent oral and written communications skills, along with the creativity necessary to implement innovative solutions to commercialize technologies.

This position will be hired at a I or II level

Level I minimum requirement is a Bachelor's degree with pay grade of PS809

Level II minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of related experience with pay grade of PS810
