Job Description:Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Department of Agronomy (AGRON) at Iowa State University is seeking a lecturer to teach approximately 6-9 credits of crop physiology, production, and systems classes per semester. These courses are part of the core curriculum for agronomy majors and minors. This is a term teaching faculty position with primary responsibilities to the teaching mission of the department. The successful candidate will have experience focused on crop physiology and production systems, will exhibit excellent communication skills, and will share in Iowa State's commitment to achieving excellence through diversity and inclusion.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

MS degree in agronomy or crop science

Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years of experience past the BS degree

PhD Degree in agronomy or related field

Previous experience teaching college-level agronomy or crop science courses

The Department of Agronomy administers a BS degree in agronomy, PhD and MS degrees in plant breeding, crop production and physiology, soil science, and agricultural meteorology, and distance MS degrees in agronomy and plant breeding. The department has over 40 faculty and serves over 200 undergraduates, 100 graduate students and 120 distance MS students.
