2nd shift Ops Services Team Leader Requisition ID: 20123 Job Location(s): Ames, IA, US Job Description Danfoss has an opportunityfor a Team Leader Operational Services - 2ndShift to join us at our Ames, Iowa location in the US.The Team Leader Operational Services will drive operational excellence, including metric performance (Safety, Quality, 5S, Delivery, Productivity, Cost and Morale), process innovation and talent development. Responsible for fostering teamwork, involvement and a positive team culture that values safety, quality and overall excellence.Job Responsibilities Maintain a robust, effective production performance processMeet or exceed performance metrics (KPI targets)Create clear, documented expectations for each team memberProvide regular feedback, both formal and informalRecognize good and excellent performance regularlyCorrect performance problemsDirect daily activities hands-on and via Team CoordinatorsEnsure robust, standard systems are in place and followedManage variable activity rates, including staffingPromote teamwork and enthusiasmReinforce safety, safe behaviors and deliberate actionsPromote quality excellence and customer satisfactionRole model actions and behaviorsFacilitate effective weekly team meetings with relevant contentCommunicate externally "voice of the team"Link actions and improvements to KPI'sDevelop Team Coordinators and othersMonitor production and have strong shop floor presence (typically 30 minutes or more of each hour)Know "hot spots" and monitor them closelyIdentify waste and losses; look with a critical eyeQuestion and challengeEnsure goals are being met or effective recovery plans are in placeReact and resolve issues with urgency and ownershipRespond to Team Coordinator escalations and assign resources to quickly resolve issues, escalate to Manager as requiredEnsure 5S sustainment and improvementAnticipate and plan aheadMonitor behavior (especially for safety) and do not allow non-standard work.Analyze performance and identify recurring losses (across all three shifts)Lead and own the RCPS process, keep the board up-to-date and ensure actions are getting assigned and completed on timeGet assistance as required (demand sometimes)Track KPI's, update, report and presentInitiate actions targeted to performance improvement (guide the team)Background and Skills Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management or related fieldSupply Chain and/or Financial experienceRelated leadership experienceGood Communications Skills (Oral and Written)Proficient in Microsoft ExcelProven problem-solving skillsStrong decision-making skillsTeam player\building positive working relationshipsSupply Chain and/or Financial experienceDanfoss - Engineering Tomorrow At Danfoss, we are engineering solutions that allow the world to use resources in smarter ways - driving the sustainable transformation of tomorrow.
